The Wisconsin RFU would like to extend an invitation to all talented men's rugby players born in 1989 or later to participate in the 2008 Men's U18 & U20 Selectside tryouts.
Our goal is to put together the best team we can to represent the state for the Rocky Mountain Challenge in Denver, CO from June 10th to June 16th, 2008. No doubt about it, we plan on being the best of the best! 17 players last year were selected for national consideration.

Because of the tremendous turnout at last year's tryout, we are going to have split camps so we can best see more players in each region.

Sunday, April 27th, is the southern tryout at Naga-Waukee Park in Delafield (90/94 to Hwy. 83, north one mile, park on left)
Sunday, May 4th, is the northern tryout at Fond Du Lac (click here for directions to the UW-Fond Du Lac Sports Complex)
Registration starts at 8:15 AM and tryouts begins at 9 AM sharp.
All Coaches: Please extend an invite to any player you would recommend. You can print out the forms on this page to hand out to players to be completed prior to tryout. You can also email back to me your players' contact info and we can notify them for you if you like. As we approach tryout dates, we would ask that you send Coach Shraml a quick response with a lost of possible participants so the coaches can best prepare for the turnout.
Please pass this onto any college/club/other players that may be interested. Keep in mind with the U18 team, we will be taking any inexperienced, but talented players, so anyone with a rugby mentality should plan to attend one of the tryouts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- You only need to attend one tryout. If you can't make one day, travel and show up to the other. Teams will be announced early during the week after the northern tryout in Fond Du Lac.
- All forms must be filled out completely and forms will be available at tryouts.
- We want to see all of the best players in the state, so even if a player can't make the Colorado trip, they should still show up to get selected to play in the Illinois match in early June.
- We have had difficulty in getting these forms out to the WIHS NEW Conference email list so please pass onto anyone who missed.
- Tryout Schedule:
- 8:15 - 8:45 AM Registation
- 9:00 - 9:20 Warmup for fitness training
- 9:30 - 10:30 Fitness testing (Running shoes may be needed)
- 10:45 - 11:45 Ball/Position Drills
- 11:45 - 12:15 Break (on your own)
- 12:15 - 2:30 Game scrimmages.
All coaches/parents are welcome, we are expecting a great turnout so get all your best there and we'll see you on the pitch.
